RACHEL + ANDREW

Rachel+Andrew were married back in May at The Red Lion in Burnsall.  When we first met R+A they both talked about how they wanted their Yorkshire Wedding to be full of handmade goodness.  I don’t think we ever expected how much handmade wedding goodness this would involve.

We arrived at The Old Police House in Burnsall to see Rachel and the rest of the bridal party. After saying hello to everyone we decided we wanted to shoot Rachels dress outside against a gorgeous Yorkshire Stone Wall. The dress was in a dress bag and everyone in the house was so very excited to see it. We zipped it open to reveal most amazing wedding dress. Rachel’s dress was so special to her. Rachel’s mum hand made Rachel’s dress. Totally from scratch and it was amazing. We thought it was better made than some of the off the peg dresses you can get in bridal boutiques! It was paired off with the cutest shoes that Rachel found at a vintage fayre. Unfortunately we managed to break the strap later in the day by climbing a fence. It was well worth it for the amazing images we managed to create.

R+A had an unplugged ceremony.  Seriously EVERYONE needs an unplugged ceremony.  Every single guest who was there turned around and looked at Rachel and smiled.  Not through a camera or a pesky iPad but through their eyes and it was beautiful to watch.

After the ceremony we headed out onto the terrace and ate Yorkshire pork pies, drank real ale and looked out over the amazing Yorkshire countryside.

For R+A couple portraits we decided to head off in the car up to a nearby wood.  After climbing over a gate (Rachel you were ace) and wrestling with a few over grown weeds we were in the thick of the forest.  It was a time for us to get some great images for R+A and time for those guys to catch up on the madness of the wedding day.  We had a lovely time up there and I am sure R+A will agree that this was one of the best parts of the day.

Rachel and her sister made that wedding cake!  It was bloody lovely too.   Then there was the cake table.  Oh my goodness the cake table.  Everyone got their GBBO on and pitched in and made something.  We have to say, Andrew’s shortbread with rosemary were one of our favourites.  We took a huge bag or three home.  The decorations were made by Rachel and their family, the flowers and bouquets were cut and ribboned by the bridesmaids in the morning.  Rachel is one VERY talented lady and all her handwork really paid off as it looked amazing.  I am sure you will all agree.

These guys and their wedding party danced into the night and still to this day it was the most packed dance floor we have ever seen.  Andrew’s dad seriously knows how to throw a few shapes!

Huge thanks to Rachel + Andrew and their wedding party.  You were all ace and we had the time of our lives shooting it for you.

Bloody love a good Yorkshire Wedding!
