The Oak Tree of Peover Wedding
When Catherine + Adam first contacted us about their The Oak Tree of Peover Wedding wedding we were really excited. The Oak Tree of Peaover is a new venue for us and we have wanted to shoot there in like forever!
Catherine + Adam’s had an outdoor wedding ceremony and this was pretty exciting for both us and the awesome staff at The Oak Tree of Peover as it was the first wedding to be held outdoors.
As you know the weather this year has been epic and it didn’t let these guys down! The guests all covered smothered themselves in suntan lotion before piling onto the gorgeous lawn in front of the Garden Gazebo where they waited to see Catherine + Adam get married in the glorious sunshine. (2018 British heatwave we bloody LOVE you, Don’t give out on us now, You can do it!)
Catherine + Adam are wonderful people. In their emails from day one we understood that their wedding vibe was going to be a gathering for all their friends and family. They wanted the day to be all about having fun and it really was.
Outdoor Wedding Ceremony
Before the Outdoor wedding ceremony Catherine remained quiet and nervous whilst getting ready with all her girls. Adam was calm to begin and as soon as he saw his little boy Jacob the emotions started to get to him and that for us is just magical. Then as he saw Catherine walking up the aisle arm in arm with her brothers the trickle of tears turned to a pour and no wonder, Catherine looked absolutely stunning!
After the beautiful ceremony was conducted by the registrars, a family friend held a blessing for Catherine + Adam. It was such a great idea! The blessing and readings were filled full of the most personal and touching details about Catherine, Adam and their beautiful boy Jacob.
After the ceremony had finished everyone headed onto the patio to listen to the live music, to drink champagne and eat all the delicious canapés provided by The Olive Tree.
Beautiful Sunset on your Wedding day
On a wedding day we usually take our couples for two 15/20 minute sessions of pictures. One session between the ceremony and meal and one normally just before or after first dance depending on the time of year. With Catherine + Adam we decided to leave the pictures until after the wedding meal had finished as we knew we were in for a clear day and were more or less guaranteed a sunset or what we call golden hour. This is where the light becomes the most golden colour, the sun is low in the sky so less horrible shadows and it’s a little less intense too. It’s AMAZING for us to take pictures in this kind of light and a great way for our couples to get some time alone together on their wedding day. Something we are massive advocates of.
We are seeing a massive rise in Maid of Honour Speeches lately and we absolutely love the idea. The speech that Catherine’s MOH made was beautiful. Funny, heartfelt, tearful and from the heart. Equally as good was Adam’s best mans speech where he spilled the most hilarious stories.
With the weather being so glorious we decided to cut the cake and to hold the first dance outside, and why not! It’s not often that we have a heatwave in the UK and it’s something out of the norm.(The norm can go f*#k itself). After the first dance everyone headed over to the pizza oven to tuck into some hot, delicious pizza before hitting the dance floor and partying the night away to the track laid down by the awesome Andy Murphy. Andy kept everyone on the dance floor all night and played some proper tunes (if you are looking for a DJ Andy is on our list – He’s brilliant! Paul even got to spit lyrics to Ja Rule for the first time in a while which made him happy.)
Catherine originally found us through seeing the images of Sasha + Nick after her wonderful MOH pointed her in our direction. A massive thank you for recommending us! Cat + Adam, it was an absolute pleasure to shoot your The Oak Tree of Peover Wedding. We can’t thank you both enough for choosing us and you are two of the most awesome people we have met. Massive love also to Jacob. What a little dude!
Here are a few of our favourites from the day…
