Lisa + Andrew’s Yorkshire Garden Wedding took place back in June in a marquee at their home. There has been a recurring theme this year and you guessed it BAD WEATHER!! It rained most of the day. Paul headed off to Lisa’s house in the rain while Kelly headed to hang out with Andy and the boys at his parents house before we headed onto the church in the thunder and lighting to see them make things official. After the wedding we had to hang around inside the church for 10 minutes as it was literally bucketing it down outside. When it finally eased off we didn’t hang, jumped in the cars straight to the marquee on Lisa and Andy’s farm.
Lisa + Andy have 2 adorable children and they wanted their wedding day to be filled with their children, family members and friends. There were 35 children in total if I remember! 35! Fear not though because Lisa + Andy had it all figured out. Outside was the biggest ever inflatable assault course that we have ever seen. Giant inflatable darts, slides and all sorts of games including a bucking bronco! Due to the rain (bloody weather) the kids only managed 30 minutes of fun before it was dark. While the speeches were taking place the kids were entertained with a disco hosted by a very cuddly Elephant, games, disco, picnic food and loads of fun. A fantastic idea. A big tip from us. If you have kids at a wedding. KEEP THEM ENTERTAINED because to kids weddings are seriously boring events!
As wedding favours Lisa+Andy had 1 pence pieces on every name tag where you could exchange your pennies at the tombola they had for prizes. They included key rings, rubber ducks and 10 golden tickets. Whoever got the golden ticket was invited to play a game after the meal. In-between the meal (provided by our favourite Caterer GFS) and the evening disco Lisa+Andy organised for the golden ticket winners to play your cards right. It was immense fun and kept everyone entertained until the dancing was ready to start!
In the early evening hours the sun decided to burst through the heavy clouds and the evening became glorious so we made use of it and headed across to the house to take pictures of L+A in the garden. The light was beautiful and the warmth on the face was lovely! We headed back to the marquee where Lisa + Andy were surprised with a flash mob from all their guests. For weeks before the wedding everyone had been practising their shimmy whilst watching Corrie courtesy of Nicola’s (Lisa’s friend) homemade video and secret Facebook group.
All these guys partied into the night apart from our good friend Sarah who decided she wanted to visit A&E and threw herself on the dance floor whilst throwing some very dubious shapes. We had an absolute ball!
