A few months ago I headed to London to join some of Uk’s most awesome wedding photographer on a workshop with the amazing Fer Juaristi.
I headed down to London with 6 others and we stayed in a classy (I use this term loosely!) hotel near Old Street. We ate good food, drank lots of booze, partied in my room and in general had a blast!
From time to time it is great to hang out with other like minded creative photographers. Chat about photography, weddings and personal stuff but to also learn from the best.
Most people by now who know us know that both Paul and I are absolutely in love with Fer. Him images and his style of photography, man, this guy is flipping awesome!
I learnt so much from Fer that day. I learnt to be brave, take chances, not give a shit about what others think of what we do and I learnt to Believe in myself.
Half way through the day we headed out with a partner to shoot some frames in a short space of time. I knew a lot of people attending the course and I wanted to push myself and told them I wanted to partner with someone who I didn’t know. Hollie stepped up and became my partner. I will be totally honest now and admit that this scared the SHIT out of me. The reason why is because Hollies’ partner is one of the UK’s finest photographers and someone who I really admire. Ross Harvey wins wedding awards, appears on Fearless with his mind blowing images and is just bloody awesome! He has also taken lots of amazing images of the beautiful Hollie.
So in this blog I don’t give a s**t what others think. I got some great images that day but I am choosing to post only one frame. My favourite. Hollie, thankyou for laying on the dirty pavement in London and letting me take this image of you.
Massive thanks to the following people:
Bhavna Barrett for being my awesome roomie.
Barnaby Aldrick for spilling a full bottle of red wine in my room and being a true gent linking up with me through London at night
Andy Gaines for sharing your crisps and sweets with me (although waking up with a dorito stuck to my face wasn’t planned)
John Hope for sharing all the fun with us in my room and helping me clean up the wine
Alan Law for being just Alan (you are ace dude!) and introducing me to aspall cider
