There are always a few wedding venues that you want to shoot a wedding at and a Canal Mills Wedding was one on our list. (We are back there this Saturday and cannot wait!  We will even get to see some familiar faces from the first time too!)

Emma + Dave originally enquired with us to ask what Leeds Wedding Photos availability we had in September and they actually hadn’t booked a venue yet.  They loved our wedding photographs and asked us for help in finding a wedding venue.  They told us they were looking for a venue which was not traditional, quirky, industrial and different.  We directed them in the way of Canal Mills as it’s definitely all those things.  They immediately booked them and us!  As Canal Mills isn’t yet licensed to hold the official part, E+D did the ‘official wedding vows and signing part’ at Leeds Town Hall a few days before and Kelly popped along and spent an hour with them and their closest family and friends.  They celebrated by eating a late relaxed lunch in Leeds.

On the following Saturday it was time for the wedding at Canal Mills it started off for the girls with hair, make up, champagne and a surprise arrival of a Desoto Firedome wedding car to take Em to her wedding arranged by her parents. The ceremony was conducted brilliantly by one of their friends while surrounded by all their friends and family.  It was really lovely, personal and lit just by a string of fairy lights.  E+D were a delight to photograph.  These guys are a bundle of energy and you can quite clearly see they are not only married, but also best friends.

Their wedding was so much fun and had a massive impact on Paul and I.  They did their day Their Way.  This is one thing we always tell our couples to do and E+D absolutley rocked the shit out of it!  They laughed, smiled, cried and partied like loons and if you can’t do those things on your wedding day then when can you?  The music was sensational and filled with a tonne of rock classics for Em + Dave to air guitar to and when Emma’s Brother in Law took to the decks we were blown away.  He was flipping awesome!  Every single person danced that evening and even Emma gatecrashed the band and sang on stage.

We have so much more that we want to say but instead we are going to make a list of awesomeness.

Great food, a surprise car, parents who adore them, friends who are fun, bridesmaid jumpsuits, a guitar (and we will never forget Dave’s face when he received it), a bride who rocked her dress and looked fucking awesome too, a proper dapper suit, party animals, an uncle wearing a piano suit, pizza fella, special brew cans with flowers, an old door as a table plan and finally and most importantly two new and bloody lovely friends!
