Back in June we had the pleasure in shooting Helen + Nick’s East Riddlesden Hall Wedding. East Riddlesden Hall is a pretty special place of ours. We were almost married there ourselves! We literally live two streets away and spend a lot of our family time there too. The grounds are beautiful and the National Trust have kept the place looking stunning in all the years we have lived here.
It was a very emotional time at groom prep when Kelly arrived in Harrogate. Nick lives in the UK while his family live back in Australia. Nick tried to keep himself composed but in the end the emotions of having all his family there to see him getting married were all too much. It was a pleasure to photograph so many beautiful moments between him and his family. Over the hill in Steeton Helen + her bridesmaids had a much more super relaxed morning sipping bubbles whilst getting pampered.
Helen + Nick were married at All Saint’s Church in Ilkley which is a stunning church. This is the first church wedding in Ilkley we have shot and it was wonderful. The vicar was brilliant. He let us shoot all aspects of the ceremony discreetly and also kept their family/friends entertained with his brilliantly funny stories. He even presented Helen + Nick with a’nutty gift’ in the ceremony which is based on a story about how they met.
After the ceremony was complete and the confetti was thrown we headed out into the sunshine and over the Ilkley moor past the cow and calf rocks towards Keighley and East Riddlesden Hall.
Canapés and drinks were served by Hog + Apple wedding caterers who are amazingly good at what they do. The guests all mingled in the gardens where the ate drank and enjoyed the glorious sunshine.
We noticed just after everyone polished off their desserts that the golden sunlight had started to dip behind the house and mission sunset wedding portraits was on! Helen + Nick were only too happy to take 15 minutes away from their friends and family and have some beautiful wedding portraits in the golden light. We absolutely adore these images and we know Helen + Nick had a great time in each others company taking a short time out from their guests to enjoy those first few hours of married life.
Massive Thanks to Helen + Nick for having us along to shoot their wedding day. We were made to feel so welcome from the moment we arrived until it was time to say our goodbyes. A big Thank you to Chloe who is the East Riddlesden wedding co-ordinator. Chloe is an absolute delight to work alongside. She has the biggest and warmest smile and everything always runs like clockwork. We love working with her and the rest of the ERH team.
