Silverholme Manor Wedding
It’s always really tricky to write about a wedding (Silverholme Manor Wedding)that you didn’t shoot. When we blog I (Kelly) write and do a simple draft of the blog post and then it gets passed onto Paul who ‘fluffs’ the blog post up a little, writes some witty and fun stuff and corrects me when I am being too formal. In my previous job as a prison officer I used to write formal reports and at times, I fall into the formal and official role. So, with a little teamwork from Paul and I, we get the job done. Teamwork = Dream Work.
Almost a year ago Paul headed off to Lake Windermere to shoot the Silverholme Manor Wedding of Hannah + Luke. When these guys first contacted us they explained that they didn’t need a full day of photography and only wanted one photographer. In total there were only 37 guests and this included Ted the dog. There was to be a small ceremony, a small number of speeches and they were chilling out in the house for the evening so they didn’t need anything after the meal capturing. We flipped a coin and Paul headed solo to shoot the wedding.
Silverholme Manor is a stunning Georgian Manor House situated on the Graythwaite Estate in the Lake District. It’s nestled perfectly on the shoreline of Lake Windermere and looks (on a clear day) across to the opposite shoreline with the fells rising up in the background. You can hire the house for the weekend and make a real intimate celebration of your wedding just as Hannah + Luke did.
Firstly, It rains an awful lot in the Lakes. An awful lot and the day of Hannah + Luke’s Wedding was no exception. It rained from start to finish but it just didn’t matter to these guys.
Lake District Winter Wedding
They both got ready at Silverholme Manor so Paul was able to take a few images of both bride and groom prep. The beautiful ceremony happened in the Silverholme Coach house surrounded by their friends and family. After the ceremony, everyone crossed the courtyard back to the main house where they mingled and enjoyed canapes. After a short time, Hannah + Luke with Paul in tow headed out to take a few pictures next to lake Windermere in the pouring rain. It wasn’t bucketing down but instead, that really annoying drizzly rain that gets you soaked. These guys from what I have heard were absolute troopers and we cannot thank you more for heading out in the December rain. I am sure you will agree, the pictures outdoors in the rain are amazing!
A huge thank you to Luke + Hannah for asking Paul to shoot your wedding. I was massively jealous when he returned home with his bag of goodies and these images.
