The Jam Factory Wedding
A few weeks ago we hitched our caravan up to the back of our car and headed south to shoot Dani + Jo’s The Jam Factory Wedding in Oxford. It was our first wedding since August 2020 and it was sooooo good to chuck a shirt and a dress on and get back to shooting weddings. We also had the pleasure of shooting this wedding with our new Canon R6’s and really put them through the paces that a wedding day throws at you and Jesus, Mary, Joseph and the wee donkey did they deliver.
Dani + Jo originally booked us back in 2019 and they were going to get married in 2020 like so many others until the dreaded Pandemic arrived. The date was set and then changed. With the new restrictions, Dani + Jo were unable to have all the guests they originally invited at their wedding and could only go by the government guidelines of 15 people. We know this was such a hard decision for them both but never the less they went ahead and had a blummin’ good time!
Oxford Town Hall Wedding
The ceremony took place at Oxford Town Hall just 30 minutes after it should have happened (let’s not talk about the traffic and car penalty changes we all got. It all adds to the memories!) Dani + Jo in front of their small wedding party said their vows at the gorgeous Oxford Town Hall. Many friends and family across the country and globe we also able to witness it all with access to Zoom! They may not have been there in person but many were able to watch Dani + Jo tie the knot in real time.
After the ceremony, we all walked through Oxford city centre and on to The Jam Factory. These guys may not have been able to hold their wedding reception indoors but The Jam Factory made sure it looked beautiful in the courtyard for the wedding party. Lots of blankets, hot water bottles top-ups and infrared heaters were provided to make sure everyone was comfortable. Massive Thank you to the staff at The Jam Factory. They were absolutely bloody brilliant.
Once everyone had arrived and had a drink in hand the speeches began. The great thing about having a small intimate wedding is that in your speeches you can thank each and every individual. This is exactly what Jo did and there was not a dry eye in the house. It was lovely to listen to the amazing stories and listen to Jo address every single person who was able to attend their wedding. There was also a wonderful video montage created for them by their friends and family which included a famous face.
Dani + Jo also managed to have a lovely first dance and with everyone else watching on whilst waving sparklers.
