A Walled Garden Wedding Venue in Yorkshire

We shot Kim + Paul’s beautiful Wedding last summer. There is just something about the Broughton Sanctuary Estate that we love. We think it’s because we shot our first-ever wedding at Utopia almost 6 years ago. We have shot many other Weddings since. It is one hell of a venue, in fact, it is 3 venues that you can hire altogether or you can hire separately. You are spoilt for choice really but let’s talk about this Stunning Walled Garden Wedding Venue that is Utopia.

Wedding Preps at Eden, Broughton Sanctuary

Kim + Paul both got ready at Eden which is a gorgeous house on the Broughton Hall estate. The house is big enough so that the boys were able to do their thing on the ground floor. The girls took over the top floor for Hair and Makeup.

Charlie Brear Fringed Skirt Wedding Dress and a French Connection Suit

Kim wore the most stunning Dress for the day. She chose a Charlie Brear Isere fringed skirt which is a stunning option if you’re looking for a fashionable wedding dress. The dress features an overskirt with delicate fringe detail. This added texture and fun movement which we totally used whilst photographing her. The fringed skirt was perfect for their bohemian or vintage-inspired wedding.

Meanwhile, Paul wanted to look fly as hell on his big day. He picked a mix-and-match French Connection suit and looked every bit as fly as he wished. The suit had a modern and classic vibe, The Grey Jacket with Navy trousers looked fantastic and it was rounded off with a super smart bow tie. It really showed off his personality.

Breaking Tradition with First-Look Photos

Paul + Kim opted for a first look to really throw tradition out of the window. If you don’t know what a first look is then let us tell you all about it. We are MASSIVE fans of a first look. Basically, once you are ready in your wedding attire rather than seeing each other for the first time at the front of the ceremony you meet each other beforehand. It is too often we hear, ‘Oh but it’s bad luck to see each other before the ceremony!’ Says who?

We believe our couples aren’t ones for sticking to wedding traditions and this is one rule we think should be broken. Paul and Kim were very nervous until they saw each other in the Garden of Eden (see what we did there). Paul gave Kim a beautiful necklace as a wedding gift and they both hugged and laughed for 5 minutes alone. Afterwards, they headed for the ceremony at Sacred Heart Chapel at Broughton Hall. After they saw each other their nervousness turned into joy and this continued throughout the day.

Catholic Wedding Ceremony in Skipton

The Sacred Heart Chapel is a Catholic Chapel nestled right on the side of the main Broughton Hall house. Father Summersgill conducted the ceremony with the right mix of both humour and seriousness a wedding ceremony deserves.

Walking through to the Walled Gardens of Utopia

Once the ceremony had concluded and confetti thrown all the guests took the leisurely stroll up through the Broughton Sanctuary Estate. GFS were waiting for them in the Walled Garden Wedding Venue of Utopia where they handed out fizz and the most divine cheese canapés.

The day was full of beautiful touches, fun, laughter and a very energetic ceilidh band to get the blood pumping and the alcohol flowing through the veins. It was also the first time we experienced the most intense game of beer pong!
