Yorkshire Glamping Wedding
This one comes a year later than it should have done but we’re so pleased to finally blog this gorgeous Yorkshire Glamping Wedding of Rachel + Paul!
Paul + Rachel got married just over a week ago FINALLY at Baxby Manor Camping Site. We say finally because these guys had to delay their 2020 wedding to 2021 but boy it was worth the wait!
We have never been to Baxby Manor so when we turned up we were surprised at how gorgeous the site was. The site has camping places where R+P’s guests camped and stayed overnight including the hobbit huts which are so cool. You can take caravans here (queue us putting it on our to-visit list) and they even have a pop-up pizza place on the weekends. R+P decided it was the perfect place to hold their wedding. Your Marquee provided a fantastic open-sided tent along with all the cool furniture. I am sure you will agree that it looked fabulous when P+R added their colourful touches.
Baxby Manor Wedding Venue
We arrived early doors at Baxby Manor to see find Paul, frantically running around helping with the last-minute preparations with his friends and family. Kel stayed with Paul while he was getting ready and organising the marquee set up. Paul headed up to the Tree House where Rachel was getting married. Once everyone was ready P+R opted for a first look at the Tree House. A first look, if you don’t know is where a couple opts to see each other before the ceremony. Before anyone says, ‘it’s bad luck to see each other before the wedding’ you’re WRONG. We have seen and photographed quite a few first looks throughout the years and they are one of the things we absolutely love. It gives you and your partner time to see each other alone, have a chat, reduce any potential anxiety issues and in general, see each other in your wedding attire before everyone else does. We would highly recommend first looks to every couple.
After the first look, P+R headed from the Tree House down to the marquee where all their guests eagerly anticipated the start of the main celebrations. P+R finally tied the knot in the pouring rain undercover in the marquee. The rain just didn’t matter, these guys had waited so long to get married. Fuck the weather we say!
Colourful Wedding
After the ceremony, confetti and the meeting of family and friends everyone sat down to eat the amazing BBQ provided by the Travelling Pig before listening to the speeches. Take a look guys… Only our third wedding of the year and we have another bride making a speech! We are loving the bride’s speeches and Rachel’s (and yours Paul!) was absolutely perfect! Once the speeches had finished everyone headed outside to play the garden games and the added bonus of Axe Throwing. Yes, you heard that correctly AXE THROWING! Paul + Rachel in their spare time enjoy visiting the local axe throwing in Leeds and thought it would be perfect entertainment for their guests which it certainly was. The Axe throwing was an absolute hit! It was so different and in more than 200 weddings we have never seen this at a wedding before. Do check this out if you are thinking of something really cool to entertain your wedding guests.
We took R+P around the camping site to take some Bride and Groom portraits. We headed all over the site and had a good old giggle too. R+P are SICK (you know it!)
After the Axe Throwing was finished everyone headed outside the marquee for the first dance and to have a good old boogie outdoors.
R+P thank you for having us shoot your wedding, it was a long time coming and FINALLY, you got to say I do. It was so colourful and fun and we loved spending time with you. Thank you also for introducing us to Axe Throwing. I sense a double date night coming up after the wedding season.
