A Vintage Inspired Wedding in Sheffield

When we first chatted with Erica + Phil they told us that after looking at pretty much every Sheffield Wedding Photographer they wanted to book with us because our relaxed and fun style really fitted with their wedding day. We love the adventure of travelling to weddings all over the UK and abroad but there is still something extra special when we shoot Yorkshire Weddings. Erica + Phil are epic people. Both are EXTREMELY creative, fun to be around and are both madly in love with each other. Phil + Erica are certainly soul mates. They also support the Sheffield Steelers Ice Hockey team and as Steelers fans ourselves well….this is a winner in itself!

Wedding Plans and Great Relationships

Emails and Instagram conversations went back and forth in the build-up to the wedding day so when we arrived on the morning it was like hanging out with old friends! We tell all the couples that book us to keep in touch and tell us about both their wedding plans and even just day-to-day goings on as it really does help build a good relationship up so that on the wedding day it’s like having a friend around who is awesome with a camera.

Pre Recorded Best Mans Speech

They both got ready at the wedding venue with their nearest and dearest including Phil’s brother. Now we mention Phil’s brother because Phil’s brother actually lived in Canada and was unable to be at the wedding in person. Modern technology did its thing so that Phil’s brother could Facetime throughout the wedding ceremony and even made the best man’s speech through a pre-recorded video. It was so lovely to watch and had everyone including Kelly in tears and not the bloody cake before you ask!

Couples Portraits at Sheffield Botanical Gardens

Once the ceremony had concluded everyone headed out onto the lawn for garden games, mountains of food and many, many belly laughs. For couple portraits, we jumped into our car and took a short drive down the road to Sheffield Botanical Gardens which is the most beautiful wedding venue itself and somewhere we have since had the pleasure to shoot at. Choreographed First Dance

When it comes to the first dance, Phil + Erica absolutely smashed their effort out of the park. No slow dance for these two as they choreographed their moves with some style, they had secretly been taking dancing lessons! From then on it was Rock and Roll dancing until everyone dropped at the end of the night. So many sweaty, happy, fun and maybe a little bit tipsy people on the dance floor. The dance floor was rammed all night which is a sign of a belting wedding for us!

Erica + Phil we have the most wonderful memories from your wedding. You guys were so welcoming to us and we felt part of your wonderful ‘crew’. We must meet up again soon for cake and coffee…oh and possibly sushi and cocktails again 😉
