One chilly morning in November we headed over to one of our favourite venues in Yorkshire. We have shot loads of weddings on the Broughton Hall Estate but this wedding was our first ever Papa Kata Tipi wedding preceded by a Bolton Abbey Wedding Ceremony and we were very excited to do what we do best.
James and his crew spent the morning getting ready at Eden eating a good Yorkshire breakfast and drinking plenty of champers. Francesca was with all the girls getting pampered and having a good giggle ready for the day ahead at Yellison Farm on the Broughton Hall estate. F+J decided to tie the knot at the wonderful church on the grounds of the Bolton Abbey Estate. Bolton Abbey is one of our favourite places to visit so for us to be shooting a Bolton Abbey Wedding was extra special.
The ceremony took place late in the afternoon just as the sun was setting. The autumn light poured through the church windows casting crazy light patterns high on the stone walls from the stained glass windows. Straight after the ceremony we headed around the Bolton Abbey ruins get some pictures of Francesca + James in the last of the golden sun. It was freezing but you wouldn’t have known that as F+J rocked the cold golden light. After the last of the light disappeared over the hill we wrapped up the wedding portraits, jumped in our car and headed to the Papa Kata Tipi at Eden on the Broughton Hall Estate.
When Francesca + James entered the tipi there was an almighty cheer as they greeted by friends and family. A feast of canapés from the wonderful GFS Catering started doing the rounds and fizz was poured in anticipation of the speeches commencing . Whilst the band tuned their guitars did their one-two’s everyone sat on blanket covered hay bales, huddled around the fire toasting marshmallows, drinking good wine. As the first dance finished any space that was available on the dance floor was filled by a guest both young and old alike and they danced like no one was watching all night. We always love a bloody good knees up!!
Autumn Weddings you keep giving and we LOVE them.
