When we first got the email from Abi + Reef about their wedding in London, we thought they were absolutely crazy! Just how we like our couples.
Abi + Reef were getting married in London. They had a date sorted and they had a meeting point for guests to be at before the ceremony and that was it. Abi + Reef had 200+ people travelling in from all corners of the world but they were keeping some vital bits of information to themselves. Abi and Reef wanted to keep their venues a secret from the guests. A secret wedding!
They wanted 3 locations and the three locations they wanted were so very different. They wanted their day to reflect them and their absolute love for music and boy they SMASHED this idea.
The ceremony was held at Wilton’s Music Hall, on the stage lit by stage lighting. It took your breath away and looked really dramatic. Wilton’s Music Hall is filled with history as the oldest surviving music hall in the world and it has been restored to reflect it’s age and beauty simply perfectly, it’s great to see they are keeping it alive with various live performances as well as making use of it as a wedding venue. There was the most beautiful choir that sung to all the guests throughout the ceremony. After the ceremony drinks and popcorn were served to some while others poured out onto the streets of London to enjoy the summer sun.
While people were chit chatting we whisked Abi + Reef off for some portraits on the stage of Wilton’s Music Hall lit wonderfully by the on hand lighting engineer. We need a lighting engineer at every wedding please! Champagne flutes were finished and everyone headed outside to find three route master buses, all 200 guests hopped onto the buses wondering where they were heading to next on their exciting journey. All was revealed a short while later as we pulled up outside St. Stephens Church in Hampstead.
Check out the images from this place. I mean, WHOA how beautiful, a former church that is now used as a fantastic event space. The wedding breakfast was held here as well as the cake cutting and speeches. The day was going flawlessly but as Abi + Reef said ‘it’s all going too well’ and with that we had the first minor mishap of the day as the buses decided to leave everyone at the church meaning we were all stranded!
After a few phone calls to the buses they weren’t returning and instead Abi + Reef sorted everyone a taxi out to get them to the next wedding venue. Loft Studios was the next surprise, a photography studio space which can also be hired as a wedding venue too! This would be where it would be party time and wow these guys partied HARD. Like we mentioned earlier, music played a huge part in the day and Abi + Reef hired their favourite Ska band Imperial Leisure to play to all their guests but first we were treated to a great dance set from a group of Armenian Dancers.
The party went off with a bang and these guys never stopped. The dancefloor was full of sweaty bodies from the moment we arrived until the moment we left.
Abi + Reef planned and organised the whole thing brilliantly. Yes it didn’t play out quite as planned but they took it in their stride and made sure everyone was looked after. What a crazy, fun and remarkable wedding. Thanks for having us along Abi + Reef to your Wilton’s Music Hall Wedding. Congratulation on the birth of your little one….
