New Craven Hall Leeds Wedding

A few weeks ago we had the pleasure of shooting Gary + Diana’s New Craven Hall Leeds Wedding.

Gary + Diana contacted us in early 2018 from way over in Australia. After a skype on Bondi Beach (it was at the point where we were about to get snow in the UK) these guys decided to book us to shoot their wonderful Jewish Wedding.

Jewish Wedding in Leeds

Now if you have never been to a Jewish Wedding before we can safely say that you are totally missing out. We have only ever shot two Jewish Weddings and we can honestly say that these guys know how to throw a bloody good wedding!

The morning preps started in Leeds City Centre where both Gary + Diana enjoyed bride and groom preps with their closest friends and family. Vodka Jelly Teddies were passed around. Families met for the first time, friends were reunited and there was so much love for these two, we even had the England football fans in high spirits marching down the street outside after the team spanked Panama (who we have a secret admiration of) in the World Cup. After the morning preps were done and dusted and the last Jelly Teddy was eaten, we all headed over to New Craven Hall.

Industrial Wedding Venue in Leeds

New Craven Hall is quite a new wedding venue in Leeds. We had the pleasure of shooting one of their very first weddings in February 2017 (you can see here) and love shooting at the venue. Jane, Ben + Gemma who organise the day at New Craven Hall are absolutely wonderful and provide a warm welcoming and most importantly a relaxed vibe to their venue. We love working alongside these guys. Industrial Venues are our faves and they always attract super fun relaxed couples just like Gary + Diana.

Before the ceremony Gary went outside to see his bride for the first time (a Jewish tradition called Bedeken) and after the tears were shed everyone headed inside to see these guys get married. The ceremony was held in New Craven Hall surrounded by all their family and friends. Once the ceremony had finished we all headed out onto the patio where everyone enjoyed food and drink and the absolutely glorious sun which was rivalling the weather Gary and Diana get to enjoy at home in Sydney. We headed onto the flyover of the motorway to get some cool, city pictures of Diana + Gary. Golden Hour again graced us with the most magical light and we snapped the beautiful pair as cars drove past and pipped their horns and shouted congratulations! Gary even managed a headstand over the motorway. We do wonder what the passing cars must have been thinking 😉

Crazy Fun Jewish Wedding Dancing

We headed back to New Craven Hall where the speeches commenced and Diana the bride started with her speech. We are absolutely loving this wedding trend and are hoping that it is one to stay! The speeches were emotional, fun and from the heart. Not a google researched speech in sight (heck yes). Then came the crazy dancing. Crazy, fun, amazing Jewish dancing. Everyone danced, laughed, threw each other around, danced on chairs and in general had a bloody awesome time. As we left the wedding there were still many sweaty and happy people on the dancefloor. The dancefloor was rammed from start to finish which is just how it should be!
