Jervaulx Abbey Wedding
This gorgeous Jervaulx Abbey Wedding was our first wedding after a lovely 2 week holiday in Brittany, France. We were absolutely chomping at the bit to get going on part 2 of the 2022 wedding season. It was our first visit to Jervaulx Abbey Wedding Venue and wow, what a gorgeous place to get married!
Outdoor Wedding Ceremony at Jervaulx
Alannah + Andrew’s wedding started with a gorgeous outdoor wedding ceremony surrounded by the historic leftover walls and arches of the stunning Jervaulx Abbey. It was touch and go with the weather for a dry ceremony but it held up and thankfully everyone stayed dry. Saying their wedding vows amongst the arched doorways of the Jervaulx abbey ruins was really stunning for us to photograph.
Wedding Reception at Jervaulx Abbey
After the ceremony, everyone managed to explore the nooks and crannies of this awesome North Yorkshire wedding venue before being spoilt with the delights provided by our wonderful friends, James Brown Nomad Catering. One of the BEST in the business.
Bride and Groom Portraits within the Abbey Ruins
We utilised the gardens of the Abbey ruins for some Bride and Groom portraits. The ruins made for some stunning wedding photographs and these were some of our favourite couples portraits to date. Most of our couples don’t like being the centre of attention. The abbey is such a big space it gives you enough space to be able to go for a walk with the wedding couple and allow them to really relax and enjoy having their photo taken.
Marquee Wedding Reception in the Paddock
Shortly after, guests were guided out of the beautiful Abbey, into this stunning wildflower meadow of The Paddock where the gorgeous Wills Marquee Sperry Tent stood proudly at the far end of the field ready to play host to the remainder of this North Yorkshire Sperry tent wedding.
Sperry Tent Wedding Styled to Perfection
Inside the beautiful wedding flowers adorned the round tables and sat proudly in the middle, the most elegant of wedding cakes! A huge shoutout to the amazing Where the Ribbon Ends. Their cakes are our faves. Goodness only knows how they make that cake frosting but Paul cannot get enough of it! The girls from Where the Ribbon Ends are a proper family-run business and not only do they make cakes they are also the wonderful custodians of Jervaulx Abbey too. HOW FLIPPIN’ AWESOME IS THAT?!
Fun Wedding Photography in Yorkshire
We knew A+A wanted to have a laugh and oh my they did. For the Sunset Couple Shoot, we hopped into our van and headed to a beautiful cornfield to run about (or fall in Alannah’s case) and have a LOT of fun.
It was so good to shoot this outdoor ceremony wedding and work alongside loads of our wedding industry supplier friends including the amazing Southwest Band (If you haven’t got a band booked for your wedding LOOK NO FURTHER!)
A+A thank you for asking us to shoot your wedding. Thank you for asking us to stay until the end drinking tequila with you all and dancing to Rage Against the Machine. Thank you for the ‘new craze’ cuppa (frozen milk!) tea at the end of the evening in your super cool hut.
Here are just a few of our faves.
