The Arches Dean Clough Wedding
The Arches Dean Clough Wedding Venue has been on our list of venues that we have wanted to shoot a wedding at for quite a while. We love old mills, anything industrial and Yorkshire. This venue ticks all those! When Laura + Dave asked us to shoot their wedding at The Arches we jumped at the chance!
Laura + Dave’s Wedding was numero uno of 2019 and we were super excited to start 2019 especially as it was at the Arches Wedding Venue and what a wedding to start the year on!
The wedding ceremony commenced at The Arches in front of the humongous mill windows surrounded by 90 of their friends and family all excitedly watching on. The space in the Arches is incredible and all the guests were wowed by the space. It was decorated with beautiful flowers and foliage from Mode for Events and there were dozens of Gin bottles placed around the room which were used to candle light the venue after dark. After a beautiful ceremony concluded a tonne of confetti was thrown over L+D and everyone mingled around the venue and enjoyed the drinks and delicious canapés. This was the perfect opportunity for us to head out with L + D to shoot their portraits around Dean Clough Mills which was like a playground for us. Industrial areas are steeped in history, they give us cool light and the most interesting backdrops to the photographs.

After Laura + Dave’s pictures were taken we headed back to The Arches where everyone feasted on the most gorgeous food including us (belt buckles were loosened). The venue was lit by fairy lights and candles and looked so bloody cool. Once the food was devoured a game was played where all the guests were involved. It was an adapted game of musical chairs shall we say but interesting items had to be collected/worn/smeared on along the way. During a wedding day there is always a quieter part after the meal finishes and there is a little wait for the evening festivities to begin. This game slotted in perfectly and kept the fun going just in time for the cake cut and the first dance.
Industrial Wedding in Yorkshire
After the first dance had finished the dance floor was packed with people dancing and this is how it remained as we left to go home (after grabbing a Falafel Wrap from the Falafel Guys). My gosh Laura, Dave you guys, your friends and family know how to party!
Massive thank you to Laura + Dave for being so wonderful all day and making sure we were well looked after. A big Thanks must also go to Diane and the team at The Arches. Nothing at all was too much trouble for them (fingers crossed we will be back soon). Also a big thanks to Natasha, our photography friend who recommended us to Laura + Dave. Natasha you owned that dance-floor darling!
