We Love Weddings in Leeds
When Helen + Adam booked with us for their Thorner Victory Hall Wedding and Leeds Town Hall Wedding Ceremony we were over the moon. We love weddings in Leeds! There are some stunning wedding venues in Leeds. One of our favourites is Leeds Civic Hall especially as it is such a stunning building.
On the morning of the wedding, we were prepared for rain, rain and more rain. The weather all week had been typically British and on this Friday it was expected to be the heaviest day for rain. This meant a quick dash from Helen in the pouring rain as she arrived at Leeds Civic Hall.
Leeds Civic Hall Wedding Ceremony
Everyone eagerly awaited the arrival of Helen. Adam had been quite nervous all morning and seemed to be super nervous just before the ceremony. Helen walked down the aisle and his nerves turned into beautiful emotions. You could just see how happy Adam was to see Helen.
Confetti on the Steps of Leeds Civic Hall
After the ceremony concluded we all headed out onto the steps of the Civic Hall. We think the weatherman was confused on this day as the showers had transformed into glorious sunshine. We had the guests make an aisle and then we snapped the newlyweds embracing the tonnes of confetti being thrown their way. Group shots were next up and we efficiently ticked each one off so we could all move on to the wedding reception. H+A jumped in the wedding car whilst the guests hopped onboard a bus to head to the wonderful Thorner Victory Hall.
Thorner Victory Hall is Stunning
When we arrived at the hall we were blown away by how many paper cranes H+A had managed to create for decorating the space. They had told us they were going to make a lot but we were blown away by how many there were. More importantly, how incredible it looked. There were also some great DIY guides for everyone to have a go at making their own paper creations.
Couples Portraits at a Village Hall
We often get asked ‘Where will you do our couples photographs?’ when we shoot Village Hall Weddings. Well, you would be surprised at what we can achieve with good lighting and an excited newlywed couple. We go for a little wonder and see what we come across. Thorner Victory Hall is no different and we took Helen and Adam out in the local area for some couples portraits. We dodged the rain for 10 minutes before finally dashing back inside before the heavens opened.
Brides Speeches at Weddings
The rain continued to fall through dinner and the speeches. That didn’t matter though as soon we had Wedding Speeches to Photograph. We were lucky enough to hear another bride’s speech! I know we keep banging on about bride speeches but we totally LOVE THEM! All the wedding speeches were lovely to shoot and were delivered brilliantly!
Wedding Ceilidh
Tables were cleared to make way for a dance floor. The Ceilidh Band arranged their instruments on the very aptly lit green stage before calling up the first dances of the evening. The dance floor filled up and it was time to learn a promenade or a Flying Scotsman. Helen switched out her yellow shoes for some Converse and Adam danced for almost every song!
