Outdoor Wedding Utopia

Emily + Rory’s Colourful Wedding Utopia Broughton Hall was one to remember. In the days/week leading up to the wedding torrential rain pour was expected. The day arrived and we didn’t get a single blumming drop!

Emily started the morning just a short drive away at one of the beautiful cottages on the estate while Rory headed for a swift pint with his best man.

Utopia at Broughton Hall is one of our favourite wedding venues in Yorkshire. We absolutely love shooting on the Broughton Hall Estate. The couples that choose to get married here are always completely happy, relaxed and want a good party! Just like Emily + Rory. These guys opted for an outdoor ceremony in front of Utopia. We were all so pleased the rain decided to stay away for the day.

Emily arrived with the biggest smile on her face which never left her for the entire day. As Rory took a glimpse at Emily, the emotions arrived and Rory only just kept it together. The ceremony was conducted by the wonderful ladies at the Skipton Register Office (again, we shouldn’t have favourites but these ladies are!). Once these guys were officially married they walked the aisle to a tonne of confetti cannons in the sunshine. The drinks flowed and the canapés were handed out by our great friends at Good Food Story and everyone relaxed on the patio with Emily + Rory. We took a little time out while everyone was relaxing to take some portrait pictures of E+R on the grounds of the Broughton Hall Estate. After we returned with the couple everyone headed indoors to eat and listen to the speeches.

Wedding Speeches

The speeches were emotional and hilarious all at once. One minute guests were in tears the next they were howling with laughter. Speeches for us are a great time to capture natural and candid moments. There is always a funny/cringeworthy moment to capture and a loving story to tell.

After the speeches had finished and before the band started we snuck E+R off to another part of the estate to enjoy some time alone and to capture the more relaxed images in the cornfield. The second session of couple portraits for us are our favourite. All the important parts of the wedding have been completed and it’s a time for the couple to take everything in about the day. A time from them to just relaxed for 15 minutes with us in tow!

After the portraits we headed back to Utopia for the PARTY!
