Woolas Barn Wedding Photography
It might sound weird reading this as an outsider but we are incredibly sad that the wedding is over. There are some couples who we just gel so well with and Lucy + Tom are one of those. It’s always such a wonderful process getting to know our couples once they book us. We have never met L+T before the wedding day but it felt like meeting old friends on the day. Throughout the build-up to the wedding, we have kept in touch via Instagram sharing our thoughts and love for food, outings, TEA and nanna blankets/cardigans. We have shared many emails chatting about the wedding. Let’s not say the C-word but that has been mentioned a few times and in general, L+T have become our friends. When a wedding is over we always feel a sense of pride but also feel sad and we hope all our couples keep in touch to remain as friends or even rebook us for some cheeky family photoshoots if children come along. Lucy + Tom’s Woolas Barn Wedding Photography was held over the weekend. If you haven’t heard of Woolas well…..they are the new super cool kids on the block and this venue is ‘THA BOMB’ (if you want this venue then book quick as they are in demand)! This was our first wedding with over 30 people since Feb 2020! We won’t lie, we were both incredibly nervous before the wedding day. There are restrictions still in place so we were not sure how everything would pan out.
We arrived with Lucy in the morning to a massive warm welcome and that was it. The nerves were gone and we were back to doing the job we love so much. Paul spent the morning with Lucy and the girls while I headed straight to Woolas to meet Tom and the rest of the wedding party.
As the buses arrived 70 people climbed off the bus and headed towards the drinks station for a refreshment just outside the barn. It was wonderful to see many families, friends all get together again after spending such a long time apart. It was also great to hear the Guardians of the Galaxy soundtrack play out in the background as the guests arrived. Being a big fan of Marvel it had our toes tapping with the odd air grab thrown in for good measure!
Due to restrictions, not everyone was able to witness the ceremony due to numbers. Some friends and family patiently waited, drinking and chatting while waiting for Lucy to arrive. Lucy arrived to see a handful of friends and family and she greeted them before heading into the venue.
Lucy + Tom’s ceremony took place in the ceremony room in Woolas Barn surrounded by their loved ones. Giggles soon ensued after Lucy dragged over a few flower vases with her dress walking the aisle but all was well and no harm done. Finally, she was reunited with Tom. L+T read their own vows before signing the register and then heading out to confetti in the stunning gardens of Woolas Barn. The garden area looked amazing with all the garden games and the amazing touches from Emily K Weddings and the Woolas Barn Team. Drinks, conversations and limbo dancing commenced and all with no rain that we were forecast earlier in the week! The sun certainly had his hat on.
After a few hours of socialising everyone heading into the barn to enjoy the wonderful food created by Baba Ganoush and listen to the speeches. We have said this before and we will say it again BRIDES SPEECHES! Hell yes. There were 4 speeches of the day from Tom, Lucy, their best friend/man and Lucy’s dad. We love a bride speech and encourage all our couples to share speech duties, if they want to of course.
Once everyone had enjoyed their feast we took L+T in our trusty van to the local village where we randomly took pictures of them at an old school immaculate petrol station because well, why the fudge not?! We then headed to the field at the bottom of the farm to catch the last of the golden sky before heading back to the venue.
Once at the venue L+T enjoyed their first dance before heading outside to toast smores, drink and chat all evening long.
We worked with so many suppliers on the day that are truly FAB. We have tagged everyone at the bottom of this post but a massive thanks to all the suppliers who made the day truly fantastic! From the Hair and Make-Up, Flowers, Cake, Live Music, Garden Games, The amazing planner Emily, food, drinks, venue….you are all AMAZING!!!
Thank you to all L+T friends and family for attending the wedding you were an absolute pleasure to take images of – Some crazier than others (you know who you are 😉 ) but the biggest thanks go to Tom + Lucy. We love you both. We love your weirdness like ours, Tom’s love for Marvel, Minnie, Crazy Plant lady (just like Kel – Sorry Tom she needs more plants), Lick (the paint company not an actual tongue to body parts) obsession. We know you don’t like having your photo taken Tom but you flipping smashed it dude!
