Yorkshire Family Photography
In April/May 2020 we had planned to blog all the beautiful weddings we had shot from February-May but Covid-19 showed up and basically screwed up the plans of the world. Fear NOT, those weddings will still be happening either later in the year or in 2021. Next year they will be here gracing our pages and honestly, we can’t wait!
It has been a very strange time for us all. With most of 2020 weddings being postponed, we find ourselves with no weddings until at least August/September. Kelly is currently working part-time for the NHS and I have a few things that I am able to do to help with income as we are unfortunately not able to shoot weddings. We are gutted but know that when we kick CV-19’s ass out of the country, weddings will return with a BANG!
We recently put the feelers out for doorstep family portrait shoots on our Facebook and Instagram pages and we had such a positive response. This week Paul headed out to make a start on shooting 4 families. 15 minutes, social distancing, £40 with £10 going to a charity in need. Our chosen charity is Manorlands – Sue Ryder. We have a few more booked and we still have availability for loads more doorstep/garden shoots. Our big plan going forward in 2020 is to really concentrate and push our family shoots between now and August and depending on the Government’s plan, we will social distance and travel within the restrictions. We will also be available during the weekends for shoots this summer which is usually very rare for us.
We are making a plan now for when the Government says it’s safe again to be able to meet families and shoot full family lifestyle shoots in parks, on the moors, city centres, and such. We will also be advertising mini shoots again but with more availability as our calendar is much clearer. Weddings may be halted at the moment but we can still document families, couples, birthdays, smaller celebrations again when the Government says it is safe to do so. Let’s document these times and the appreciation of being healthy and with loved ones. If there is one thing we have personally learnt from this pandemic is how much we love, cherish, and miss our families when you can’t see them every day.
