Barden Towers Wedding Photography
James + Lindsay’s Barden Towers Priest House Wedding happened 8 days ago and we were there to shoot it! These guys had their date changed quite a few times but FINALLY, it happened in August 2021 and we were able to shoot their Barden Towers Wedding Photography.
The morning started in Harrogate at The West Park Hotel where Lindsay and her girls busily got ready while James headed straight to the wedding venue.
Now, this wedding wasn’t a usual wedding. It didn’t have a timeline that you would have expected. L+J officially got married at a small ceremony in Harrogate in June with their closest friends and family. Restrictions were still in place so they officially tied the knot and then decided to hold the party in August.
So rather than the ceremony and the meal, Lindsay rocked up with her mum and bridesmaids and met James on the green outside Barden Towers where they had time to mingle and greet all their guests. Once they had said hello to everyone, they went indoors to eat their meal. (Barden Towers does a Sunday Lunch Menu – The food was gorgeous and we highly recommend a visit). After the meal the speeches were held, whiskey was drunk and everyone was super chilled. We loved the idea of the guests eating pretty early. After the speeches, we asked L+J to head out in our van with us. The garden area at Barden Towers is beautiful but we knew these guys didn’t want to have their photos taken in front of all their guests so off we went. There is a little place we know on the Bolton Abbey Estate just up by the strid where you can look out over towards Barden Towers and we thought this would make the perfect place for these guys to have their pictures taken. The only thing was, it was up quite a big hill and Lindsay had her gorgeous Jesus Peiro Gown on and killer heels. We asked, she hiked her dress up and headed up the hill in those heels. Lindsay YOU LEGEND! (You were pretty good too James when we could prise the bouquet from your hands).
Humanist Wedding Ceremony
After the hike, we headed back to the venue for the humanist ceremony. You see we told you this wasn’t the usual timeline! The ceremony was a humanist ceremony conducted by the absolutely wonderful Rachael Meyer. Humanist ceremonies are our absolute favourite! They are so personal and all the guests love hearing about the couples back story. We simply cannot recommend them enough! If you are looking for a celebrant then Rachael is your lady. She was amazing on the day. Thank you, Rachael.
After the ceremony and more whiskey-drinking we headed outside to hear the sounds of the wonderful Shane – Who always rocks a wedding. The confetti throw happened before everyone headed inside to party. And man alive did they party. That dancefloor was packed from the first dance until we left. This wedding party certainly made up for 2020. We are sure there would have been many sore heads in the morning 😉
Thank you Lindsay + James for asking us to be your wedding photographers. We had an absolute ball!
