Usually, we book weddings months or years in advance. More recently things have changed and we are taking bookings closer to the wedding. In this case, Kate + Ash asked me a few days before their Iberica Leeds Micro Wedding if we were available and we were! The wedding was just a small wedding with less than 20 people so Ash + Kate didn’t need the both of us so Paul headed off solo to shoot this gorgeous Leeds Micro Wedding.
Dakota Bridal Prep Space
I arrived in Leeds on the train and my first port of call was to my Ultimate favourite coffee shop La Bottega Milanese. Once my flat white was consumed I headed across Bond Court to the Dakota Hotel in Leeds. This was my first visit and what a cool place to get ready. The hotel is chic, the interior is beautiful and the rooms are spacious a definite consideration if you’re getting married at Leeds Civic Hall as it’s just around the corner. I met Kate and the girls and they were enjoying the last parts of bride preps before they all walked over to Leeds Civic Hall.
Leeds Town Hall is Now Leeds Civic Hall for Weddings
Leeds has changed a lot recently and one of those changes has seen wedding ceremonies move away from the beautiful Town Hall and across to the stunning Civic Hall on Millenium Square. Only a stone’s throw away from where all Leeds City Centre marriages took place before and that is amazing. This was my first time shooting it and I’m excited to shoot it again soon with Kel so she can experience its beauty too!
Cool City Centre Bride and Groom Portraits
Once these two beauties said their I DO’s they headed out with sunglasses adorned onto the sunlit steps to be showered in confetti and be congratulated by their loved ones. After a while, I whisked Kate + Ash off for bride and groom portraits around the quieter back streets of Leeds. We LOVE doing shoots around Leeds whether it’s pre-wedding shoots or weddings.
Iberica Small Wedding Private Dining
Before long it was time to get them back to their wedding reception which was held at Iberica in Leeds in their private dining space upstairs. This space is perfect for small or Micro weddings like Kate + Ash had. Once the impromptu speeches were delivered and food was served it was time for me to say my goodbyes and leave the wedding party to enjoy the rest of their day together.
