Haworth Garden Wedding
Christina + Rob’s Haworth Garden Wedding finally happened in September after not one but two date changes, 16 months later than originally planned, these guys finally said their vows, walked the confetti arch and hit the dancefloor!
In the 10 years we have shot weddings we haven’t often shot local weddings. So, it was bloody lovely to be asked to shoot the wedding of these guys. It was also lovely to catch up with old school friends, neighbours and even some family friends.
The morning started at Christina’s family home where the girls were getting ready. Our lovely friend Gemma was there with her amazing hairdressing skills making the ladies look fabulous while Rob was at his parent’s house getting ready with the boys and the rest of his family. Once the boys had finished getting ready they headed off to the local pub to have a few drinks before heading to the church. Christina was picked up by her brother from her parents’ house and they headed to the church together.
Yorkshire Wedding
The Church playing host to Christina and Rob’s wedding was the exact church we shot our first ever wedding almost exactly 10 years to the date! How coincidental is that! Oakworth Church is beautiful and holds a special place in our hearts for the journey it has taken us on over the years. It was wonderful to be heading back to shoot there again. It was also lovely to see that big yellow ball in the sky make an appearance. It’s been evading us all year long! After the beautiful ceremony was concluded we all headed out to throw confetti and travel to the ceremony in the vintage buses to Rob’s grandparent’s farm high on the moors above Oxenhope.
Wedding Speeches
The views from the marquee were amazing and it was obvious why these guys wanted their family farm to host their wedding reception. Everyone tucked into the canapes and drank the amazing drinks from our lovely neighbour Matt’s bar, check him out if you are local and in need of a bar supplier for your event. Before long it was time to head inside the Marquee for speeches and dinner. The family of Christina had recently had a tough time so during the speeches there was a lot of crying and emotion but alongside moments of laughter and reflection for all the good times life brings. It was also lovely to see the key female members of the family making a speech.
Golden Hour Portraits
After the speeches, we headed out onto the farmland to make most of the golden hour. Because this was Rob’s family farm his expertise was super handy. He knew exactly where the sun would set, exactly where to go and at exactly what time. Rob, you legend. Once the sun had set, the cake was cut and the band Hit the Lights instruments fired into life and kicked off the packed dancefloor and the party started. The drinks were flowing, the dancefloor was never empty and we suspect there were quite a few sore heads in the morning.
C+R, just like our other couples had such a rough time reorganising their wedding throughout Covid. There were other things that happened leading up to the day and these guys and their families didn’t let that deter them in their strive for a great wedding day! You all absolutely deserved this amazing day!
Thank you for asking us to be your photographers. We had a brilliant day with you all. I am sure we will bump into you guys soon…Probably at the pub! ha ha
