St.Giles House Wedding Photography
We originally met Andrew + Alice at Robyn + Shane’s London Wedding back in 2016. When they contacted us last year to ask us to photograph their St.Giles House Wedding we were well up for the journey to Dorset. We chatted with Alice + Andrew and discovered that Wimbourne St.Giles is a small village in Dorset. This is where Alice spent most of her childhood. It was the only place that Alice + Andrew wanted to get married and when we arrived in the village on the day we could see why. Alice got ready at her parent’s home and Andrew was just a short drive away in a beautiful and quirky hotel.
It was a truly amazing day and a massive thank you to Alice + Andrew for having us along to shoot your St.Giles House Wedding. Here is a selection of our faves…

VW Beetle Wedding Car
The church was a beautiful, stereotypically cute church right in the heart of the village. The most beautiful flower arrangement arched around the entrance which Alice’s talented friend created. Visually stunning and the scent was amazing too! When we arrived there was a gathering of village residents as they were all excited to see Alice + Andrew get married. Alice pulled up at the church entrance in her friend’s dad’s beautiful VW Beetle car in the gorgeous sunshine.

A unique Cycling through Confetti Photo
The village priest conducted the ceremony and everyone from the village huddled into this historic building to see the two exchange their vows. Once the ceremony was completed everyone headed onto the green where they grabbed a drink to cool down, getting the wedding celebrations started. After a good 30 minutes or so it was time to leave the green and head to St.Giles House which was only a short walk from the church.
Everyone lined the walkway to throw confetti over A+A. To the surprise of everyone, they didn’t walk or even run through the confetti line. They went for a fun and unique wedding photo opportunity and decided to cycle through the crowds on two old-school bicycles. Not a slow cycle through, these guys meant business. The competitive side came out of A+A and they raced through the tunnel and headed onto St.Giles House to grab a drink and greet everyone on arrival.

A Stunning Dorset Country House Wedding Venue
When everyone arrived at St.Giles House, everyone was blown away by this stunning Country House Wedding Venue. When you walk through the garden there are the most stunning flowers, chairs, status and many more hidden gems. The house is incredible. The rooms have the most amazing wallpaper and have recently been restored to perfection. The massive renovation has kept its charm and grace. It’s just the most amazing place to hold your Country House Wedding. The canapés were shared and the drinks flowed while we headed off with A+A to a secret shell cave.

St.Giles House Secret Shell Cave
A+A told us all about the St Giles House shell grotto and decided we had to head there to take their couple portraits. Basically, the Shell Grotto is hidden on the grounds of St.Giles House. It’s a grotto that is full from top to bottom of sea shells. It’s hard to describe, you’ll see it in our wedding photographs and it is stunning. We have never shot in a place like this before and it was ace!

Outdoor Speeches
After spending a short time with these guys around the grounds of St.Giles we headed back to the house where the speeches were held. With the fantastic heatwave we have had, we have noticed the rise in outdoor speeches. Outdoor Speeches are our absolute favourite! Everyone gathers around to listen, you have everyone’s attention, the light is way better than when indoors and it really gives us creative license to shoot some different angles, if you’re reading this and thinking it sounds good well we can honestly say it’s MEGA!! Once the speeches were completed everyone headed into St.Giles House to eat the amazing food served by Bread and Roses.

The Dancing Cave
There is another amazing room at St.Giles House that absolutely blew us away. We called it ‘the dancing cave’. It’s a cellar room below the house that is what we can only describe as a nightclub basement with a speakeasy-style. IT IS AMAZING. It is the coolest place to dance, the DJ mixes the choons in an old barrel which apparently Richard III was once smuggled in, the sound system was on point and the lighting down there was unreal. There were a lot of shapes being thrown, clothes removed and a lot of sweaty bodies. These guys partied and partied hard! Just what we like.
