The Arches in Halifax Wedding
We have only ever shot one wedding at The Arches in Halifax so when Jake + Rebecca contacted us asking to shoot their The Arches in Halifax Wedding we were over the moon. We absolutely love Victorian mills and wedding venues that are industrial. The Arches ticks all these boxes. It’s great to see these once hustle and bustle Northern working mills taking on new roles such as wedding venues in the current times. This amazing space for hire in West Yorkshire is also just a short drive away from where we live so it’s a massive winner!
R+J bot got ready at separate locations nearby with close family + friends before heading to the venue in the stifling heat. This year we have had the most incredible warm weather and this wedding was another day filled with glorious sunshine.
R+J chose to have a beautiful humanist ceremony conducted by Rebecca’s sister and readings from close family members. There is just something special about a humanist wedding ceremony that we love. They are personal, fun and emotional. We actively encourage everyone to have a humanist ceremony.
After the ceremony, everyone headed out onto the glorious sunshine to chuck the most insane amount of colourful confetti over R+J before heading inside to enjoy Aperol Spritz and canapes.

Industrial Mill Wedding
As the evening drew in the light went to most golden orange colour and we rushed with R+J to take some pictures on the back streets. It literally stayed with us for 5 mins and man alive it was worth it.
We then returned for the first dance and to stuff our faces with the BEST pizza you can have at a wedding (Dukes Pizza) (If you know us you know we are pizza snobs and these guys are THE best in the business!) and then finished off with a cheeky ice cream cone.
