The Isla Gladstone Wedding Liverpool Wedding
Nafees + Farah’s The Isla Gladstone Wedding was held just over a year ago in Liverpool. N+F’s wedding was our first Pakistani/Muslim Wedding and we absolutely loved shooting it. When these guys first contacted us they made it clear that they wanted no fuss on their wedding day. They wanted it to be relaxed and as low key as possible while inviting over 200 guests. And, this is what it was.
The day started early at both the bride and groom prep. Kelly headed over to Farah first thing while Paul headed to see Nafees. The morning bride preparations were relaxed, quiet but full of excitement. Farah is an amazing young lady. She really is. She’s the kind of person you meet and you instantly feel welcomed into her circle and her family. This is just how Kelly felt when she arrived to take pictures of Farah. The same is to be said about Nafees. A quiet but family orientated guy who is the loveliest person you could ever meet. Nafees got ready at his family house where there were many people there all excited to see N+F finally get married.
After these guys were ready we all headed to The Isla Gladstone Conservatory where they were met by family, friends and lots of excitement. The Conservatory looked stunning. This is the first time we have ever shot at Isla Gladstone and it blew us away. We thrive when there is some kind of natural light on a wedding day and this venue was flooded with beautiful winter sun. The venue was decorated and looked amazing.
Farah waited downstairs with her sister whilst everyone took their places and Nafees took his place at the front of the venue.
The ceremony was beautiful. What we noticed about the ceremony compared to a traditional civil ceremony which we regularly shoot was the way that it was personal, family orientated and everyone was involved. At times in the ceremony, people were invited up to congratulate F+N and celebrate their marriage. It was something that we really loved and you could see it took the nerves away for F+N. It was personal, happy and fun.
After the ceremony, everyone came to congratulate these guys before we swept them away for some couple portraits. We didn’t want to take F+N far from the ceremony so we just had a wander around Stanley Park which was lovely and quiet. F+N enjoyed some time together before we headed back into the conservatory.
There was a feast of food served which the guests all tucked into, including us! After the feast, a few thank yous were said before everyone listened to the musicians who were fantastic. They played into the early evening until F+N left by a sparkler exit to start their life as Husband + Wife.
F+N, Thank you for having us along to shoot your wedding and trusting us with our first Pakistani wedding. It was absolutely fantastic. We felt welcomed from start to finish.
