Yorkshire Barn Wedding
Emma + Roger’s Yorkshire Barn Wedding at The Tithe Barn in Bolton Abbey was our second wedding this year. It happened to be on the sunniest, warmest and most amazing Easter Sunday that we can ever remember!
Emma + Roger live in London but decided to come back to ‘God’s Own County’ where Emma grew up to get married and hold their celebrations. We couldn’t think of anywhere more perfect than the amazing Yorkshire Wedding Barn that is The Tithe Barn at Bolton Abbey.
The morning started a bit hectic with 2 miles of Easter Sunday sun worshippers all queueing to get in to the Bolton Abbey estate. Rather than both of us being late arriving we decided that Kel would jump out and walk the 2 miles to The Devonshire Arms (beating the traffic we might add) to meet Roger and some of the wedding party for a few beers while Paul did a U-turn in the car and headed to bridal preps nearby in Addingham.
Once it got nearer the time to get married Roger and his best man took a steady/nervous walk along the the road towards the Tithe Barn.
The Tithe Barn at Bolton Abbey
The barn inside looked absolutely stunning all ready and set up for the wedding ceremony. Although this is was our second wedding at The Tithe Barn, this was our first wedding ceremony to take place in the barn itself so to see it all ready and set up for Emma + Roger was truly wonderful to see. What a place to get married!
Emma arrived in her uncles Jag and everyone hurried to take their seats while Roger paced at the front of the room.
Kenny Loggins’s Danger Zone was played while Emma walked down the aisle. Yes you just read that correct. DANGER ZONE from Top Gun. I mean come on is that not the best entrance music ever? Everyone laughed as she walked towards a very happy Roger. The ceremony was conducted and then these guys exited to the theme tune from Scott and Charlene’s wedding from Neighbours. Any 80’s kids out there will know the very song! (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iduvLzKvwko)
The guests spilled onto the terrace and a tonne of confetti was throw over E+R and then everyone enjoyed the sunshine, champagne, beer and the delicious canapés before sitting down to a proper Easter Feast of Roast Lamb.
Easter Wedding
After the last of the food had been eaten, the wine had been drunk and the speeches conducted we took the opportunity to take Emma + Roger down to the Abbey on the grounds of the Bolton Abbey Estate for their couple pictures. This time of the day is always a favourite for us. The sun is lower in the sky and not only was it much cooler but the sun revellers had vacated the Abbey. Probably scoff easter eggs back at home and all was much quieter than it had been earlier in the day. We splashed by the river hung out by the Abbey and talked about how amazing the day and weather had been so far.
We headed back to the barn where and everyone danced the night away to the sounds of the awesome duo at Truly, Medley, Deeply.
Emma + Roger, Thank you for looking after us so well. We had a wonderful time with you all.
