Alternative Victoria Hall Wedding
We have known today’s bride, Faye for quite a long time now. Faye was a MUA ( on a commercial shoot we did in our early days and thus knew us before we had even shot our first wedding! She has followed us ever since. When her and Lewis set their wedding date, they contacted us to ask if we would shoot their Alternative Victoria hall Wedding. We were so pleased that they loved our wedding photography work enough to ask us to shoot their wedding.
Saltaire Wedding
Lewis, his groomsmen and family spent the morning getting ready at their flat drinking whiskey out of mugs and generally having a lovely chilled morning. Faye spent the morning a few miles away in a hotel just up the road from their wedding venue, Victoria Hall, Saltaire. When I walked in to the room not only was I greeted with the familiar face of Faye but also by the wonderful Kimberley Brook who was in action doing Hair. As Faye is such an awesome MUA she choose to do her own make up and apply that amazing red lippy.
We knew Faye and Lewis didn’t have the usual plans for their wedding. They didn’t want a classic white wedding with classic car instead they went with a tuk tuk. Lewis choose a yellow/mustard flippin’ awesome suit from Asos with a beautiful bottle green bow tie to compliment. Faye decided on a green wedding dress. A beautifully designed lacy Wedding Dress that was totally Faye’s style. These guys stamped their personalities on the choices they made and they looked absolutely flippin’ incredible doing it.
Lewis headed for a few drinks at Fanny’s Ale House which is a blummin’ lovely old school pub in Saltaire before walking down to Victoria Hall with his family, groomsmen/women. Faye arrived to the ceremony in the Tuk Tuk. which was brilliant to witness. I mean, seriously, what an ace idea?!
Victoria Hall in Saltaire Wedding
Faye + Lewis were married in the Glen Room at Victoria Hall under a beautiful copper pipe archway they handmade themselves surrounded by their friends and family. After the ceremony was conducted everyone headed outside to grab some confetti to throw over Faye + Lewis. There was so much confetti! Green, Gold and grey circular paper cut outs fluttered through the air as Faye and Lewis passed, grinning from ear to ear. Kel is still finding confetti in her bag now!
Alternative Wedding Transport
For F+L’s pictures, we headed out into Saltaire with the Tuk Tuk. Saltaire is a world Heritage Site and is full of beautiful cobbled streets, old mill workers houses, cool looking doors and some wonderful colours. We also found a bright yellow shipping container in a car park which looked amazing contrasting with Faye + Lewis’s Alternative Wedding Attire.
Once we had concluded the bride and groom portraits we headed inside to hear the speeches and watch and help everyone demolish the hog roast. Then it was onto the cake table. A selection of drool worthy cakes, treats and doughnuts were available that had all been made by friends and family. The Doughnut Wall was also made by Faye + Lewis and the amazing Wedding Cake was made by Lewis’ mum!
After all the cake was devoured (we can confirm that all was eaten) we headed to the dance floor to enjoy the first dance and the partying!
We headed home as everyone was tucking into the wood fired pizza and dancing the night away.
Faye + Lewis. Thank you for just being YOU. You made your wedding truly yours and man alive we LOVED your outfits and the way you went about your wedding day so much!
