Ellingham Hall Spring Wedding – Northumberland Wedding
When M+A asked us to shoot their Ellingham Hall Spring Wedding we were over the moon. Ellingham Hall is a stunning exclusive wedding venue in Northumberland. This was our third wedding at Ellingham. Due to the pandemic, we haven’t shot a wedding there since 2019 so when we arrived at Ellingham Hall a few weeks ago it was so wonderful to be back.
It was like meeting old friends when we arrived. We have never met M+A but have followed each other for the last 2 years on Instagram where we have drooled over their amazing food creations in lockdown and in general followed each other’s adventures and their wedding day journey. Honestly, we feel like we have known these two forever and we’re looking forward to staying in touch in the future!
We knew that when we arrived at Ellingham it would be a super stylish, gorgeous and well-thought-out wedding. M+A have incredible taste and we were blown away by how amazing Ellingham Hall looked. We headed straight for the ceremony room to have a good old nosy and we were blown away. Sprig + Thistle had transformed the room and it was an explosion of the most gorgeous flowers. The floral aroma was absolutely out of this world! It was our first time working alongside Sprig + Thistle and we really do hope we get to work with these guys again soon. It was also so lovely to see that one of our Favourite cake makers Amanda Earle had provided a cake for these guys’ day. We have worked with Amanda previously at The Tithe Barn, Bolton Abbey and as our very seriously taken roles as chief cake tasters at weddings, she is DEFINATELY one of our favourites!
A very emotional ceremony was conducted before everyone headed outside onto the lawns and terrace of Ellingham Hall for fizz and canapes in the glorious sunshine. The speeches were held in the main hall where it was lovely to hear the mothers of the grooms making a speech. We have noticed an increase of mothers making a speech and we actively encourage these. A lot of wedding traditions don’t make much sense to us so we say let’s see more changing up of how things play out on wedding days!
For M+A pictures we headed out into a field nearby to make use of the gorgeous golden hour light before the Ceiledh band arrived to play. Sweaty bodies were in abundance on the dance floor and nearly every guest joined in to dance!
