Rachel and Chris’ Manchester Art Gallery Wedding was held back in July 2014. It was an early start for us even though these guys were getting married later in the day as it was the first day of the Tour De France in Yorkshire.
Kelly headed off first thing to catch the train from Leeds to Manchester to meet with Chris while Paul headed over the hills to Huddersfield to meet Rachel and the girls.
After a gorgeous sunny train ride to Manchester Kelly made her way to Chris and Rachel’s flat where she was greeted by Chris and the lads all dressed in Rachel’s dressing gowns! It was a blast photographing these dudes. R+C are so much fun and from this moment on, we knew the day was going to be ace and it totally lived up to it. Paul joined the girls in Huddersfield and after knocking on the door it was opened by a smiley Rachel and her bridesmaids. Rachel is constantly happy and is such a bundle of energy and lovely to be around. She looked stunning in her Jenny Packham Gown and her cute Rachel Simpson Shoes.
Rachel + Chris were married in beautiful and personal humanist ceremony in one of the gorgeous rooms in the Manchester Art Gallery before all their family and friends headed out on a personal tour while we headed off to take a few portraits of R+C around the gallery.
After the meal were the speeches which were full of cheeky Irish and Yorkshire humour and an amazing ‘one second of happiness’ video was playing in the background. The video was made by R+C and was recorded over the year for one second a day and went down an absolute storm!.
Into the evening everyone danced their socks off and Rachel even surprised Chris with a lovely 30th birthday cake and all the wedding party sang to him! (his birthday was a few days before the wedding).
R+C are awesome and we have remained good friends. We all sang our hearts out recently at a Bombay Bicycle Club Gig and I am sure there will be a meet up or two in 2015.
